The USTA has unveiled the official 2007 US Open theme art created by Joanne Hus.  The theme art captures the personality of both the US Open and New York. The theme art design will be incorporated into all 2007 US Open promotional and collateral materials, including tickets, the official tournament magazine, and tournament poster.

The city of Tampa announced layoffs of 120 full-time employees in a $14 million budget cut. Another 99 unfilled positions will remain unfilled. Lindsay Davenport will return to tennis when she will play for the Sacramento Capitals in the World Team Tennis Pro League on Saturday, July/21st.  The match will be against the Newport Beach Breakers. This will be Lindsay first appearance in the WTT tour since 2003.

Serena and Venus Williams are due to play with a new Wilson rackets at this week’s Wimbledon championship. The rackets (Black for Serena and white for Venus)
will be coated with 22 karat gold leaf.Wilson is planning on selling to the public a limited edition of these rackets at an estimated price of $500.00
