Boca center to open in October

By early October, the U.S. Tennis Association plans to open a state-of-the-art, $4 million residential junior development facility on the grounds of Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton. The USTA hopes it will be the crown jewel in a strategy to revitalize the nation’s tennis farm system. For the first time, the USTA will house as many as two dozen top male and female juniors, ages 14 to 18, in the same place for rigorous day-to-day training against each other. The new, three-level building includes dorm-style living arrangements, a glistening fitness center, classrooms, offices and a conference facility.
