USTA offers to purchase the Daytona Tennis Center
August 28th, 2007 in Florida Tennis News

The United States Tennis Association gave a proposal to the city of Daytona to purchase the financially troubled Florida Tennis Center. The offer of $1.0 million is just over half of what Daytona still owes on the facility, approximately $1.8 million plus interest. The city and the USTA agreed in 2000 that the USTA will use the center as its headquarters. The original lease was for five years and the USTA had options to continue it through 2021. If the city abandons the center it could leave the USTA without its headquarters.
