Court goes from tennis to evangelist

Margaret Court, considered by many the finest women’s tennis player ever, won her first major title, the 1960 Australian Open, at age 17 and became a star overnight. She racked up 64 Grand Slam titles and in 1970 became the second female to win the Grand Slam. After a long and fulfilling career in tennis, Court became a pastor in Australia and has written books on her faith. Court said she went through a time after her tennis career of illness and depression but she allowed the scriptures to change her life. “(The Bible) changed my life,” Court said. “I think if I’d known this then, I might have won a few more Wimbledons.”…read article…
